Reimagined book series - assignment for New York Institute of Art and Design

I chose the series The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins as I loved this series. Following the assignment guidelines, I used a triadic color scheme. I picked the hues red, orange and yellow as I believed they complimented the plot of each book best.
The images created on each book cover illustrates the title. I made the decision to design a more detailed and solid image at the base of the cover. I then created a square and outlined the perimeter of each object.
My reasoning for this is due to the fact that in the series, the Hunger Games and the Capitol are not what they seem to be. The districts are presented with an outline of what the media shows them, but when the main character is actually experiencing it, so much more is revealed.

I wanted to create movement within the series using an arrow, which is significant to the main character. It is shot out in the first book, where the plot begins, and travels through to the third where the story ends.

Assignment Summary:
Select three books that are similar in author, genre, or theme. Design a book cover for each one. Individual book covers should use a monochromatic scheme. However, the set should follow analogous, split-complementary, or triadic color scheme.
The imagery must include an illustration, posterization, or shape arrangement. This imagery should convey a sense of conceptual unity within the book design and across the set.
Use the elements of design to create one of the following interactions: contrast, repetition, movement, or proportion.  You want each book cover to achieve unity between attributes and interactions, and you want some of those similarities to work across all cover designs to achieve a similar unity across the set of designs. Make sure all of your type is readable and legible.
